My Story

150 people drown in UK and Irish waters every year. And this summer, thousands of people will get into danger by the water. Ordinary people enjoying days out with family or friends. It happens so easily, and it could happen so easily to one of us or to someone we love.

The RNLI are determined to be there when they're needed most. Usually, RNLI lifesavers answer mayday calls and go to rescue others. But, this May, it's them who are asking for OUR help.

Batala Lancaster are answering the call by taking part in the Mayday Mile to help make sure these brave lifesavers have the kit and training they need to save lives and keep families safe this summer.

We'll be doing our 1-mile parade along Morecambe seafront from the Hovercraft station to the Lifeboat Station and back again, followed by a celebratory static set on 1 May 2022 from 11:00am.

RNLI volunteers will be taking cash collections on the day in addition to anything raised on this page. Please come and support our final gig for the RNLI or donate online.
